Hi, my name is Jia.

I am interested in building interactive visualizations, maps, and experiences that make public data more useful for more people.

I currently teach data visualization at GSAPP Columbia.

I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Spatial Research at Columbia University.

I completed my PhD at the MIT Media Lab‘s Center for Civic Media. I built interfaces for and wrote about visualizing public data like the Census for individual use.
